Do you have different codecs in your /Library/QuickTime folders?

This is a known bug.

Audio will not play with QuickTime 7.4.5 and OS X 10.4.11.

It will work with 10.5.3.

The bug has been well understood since April 5, but there's has been no mention of a fix from 3ivx or Apple.

It affects but 3ivx 5.02 and 5.01.

There are no known workarounds other than using other software to manage the video.

I had the same audio problem with my iMac (Tiger 10.4.11) and QT (v.7.4.5) but audio worked fine on my MacBookPro with Leopard (10.5.2) and QT (7.4.5)

I installed perian on the iMac and audio works just fine now. Thanks for the solution Sen!
