Hi,

I'm having a problem with TitleLAB.

The problem is that .mp4 movies I am adding subtitles to and exporting as .m4v files, using QuickTime Pro, play fine for about one day. Then, the next time I want to use the files that have subtitles added, iTunes won't play them, nor will "Convert Selection for Apple TV" in iTunes' Advanced menu work with them (these movies are ultimately destined for Apple TV).

In QuickTime, they fail with the message "The movie could not be opened. An invalid public movie atom was found in the movie."

This has happened on both of the movies I have used TitleLAB subtitles with. The movie files work fine, then they stop working. All my other movie files (without subtitles) continue to work fine. It's just the two that have TitleLAB subtitles added that fail.

Does anyone have any idea what could explain such strange behavior?

I'm using QuickTime 7.2.0 on a MacBook Pro, with a Core Duo Intel processor, running OS X 10.4.10. The original movie files were BitTorrents in the .avi format and were (if I remember correctly) converted into the .mp4 format by means of QuickTime exports. The .mp4 files were then given TitleLAB subtitles in the standard way and exported as .m4v files. The .m4v files are the ones that worked initially but stopped working.

Any help anyone can give me will be much appreciated.

A quick reply as I am just about to head out the door, but have you tried using .MOV as opposed to .M4V?

Also, are you using reference movies or are they self contained?
