Yup. We had wanted a UB version of Crush in the beginning of the year but we are waiting (eagerly awaiting) the UB version of the 3ivx plugin to help us go forwards.

As of right now, I do know that Deinterlacing does not function in Crush when run on Intel. That and Multipass H.264 output are the two items I have noticed are not functional. I have tested Crush on a Quad Intel, a Macbook Pro and an Macbook with surprisingly good results (minus these two points). Templates were created on other macs and copied in to Crush and they worked fine.
Compression times appear to be 1/2 to 2/3 the speed of an identical MHz G5 even when running in emulation. Multiple processors are used on these machines as expected.
I'll try to post some numbers when I have time.
Cheers,
- Zav

Soooo.....what's new? How are the kids? Really? That's great to hear. So anyway, the fellas and I were just wondering how things were going with the UB. We don't mean to rush, but since deinterlacing and dual pass H.264 encoding (which doesn't work through Rosetta) are the main things we need to do with our video we're just hanging out and twiddling our thumbs waiting here. We're headlong into February and well past CES now, so my thumbs are getting awful tired.
I need to make a purchase for our lab "soon". Please don't make me have to buy Squeeze again. Please?

We're busy rewriting our core which needs to be done. At this point, we don't have a date yet.

3ivx Crush PM
Hmmmm
Just like to point out that does not mean the 3ivx codec's core...
Last I saw Crush was working on Intel macs.

i would like to ask if you
a) still work on crush or stopped development?
b) work on an intel version
c) and think about a price reduced "consumer or privat" version.
Crush is not the average consumer encoding tool because of the price.
You dont have to compare with open source but if you dont use crush
for commercial stuff its too expensive.
Crush is or was a realy great programm and i would love to use it
for my daily encodings to have some tv shows on my iphone.
Id like to see an intel version, working AC3 support (the AC3 plugin that works with Crush
crashes Quicktime) and a lower price please.
Support of the transportstream produced by Eyetv would be welcome too.
You made a nice start with crush but it did not evolve.
Please dont stop now.
Michael
