For those waiting for a demo version of Crush to take it for a test drive, a fully functional version that will run unrestricted for 10 days is ready. After 10 days, a purchased serial number is required to launch the program.

The disk image will be posted shortly at the standard URL:
http://store.3ivx.co...etails.php?id=9

Until that goes live, please feel free to download the 3ivx Crush disk image from here:
http://idisk.mac.com...Public?view=web

Please feel free to post any questions you have about the app.

Cheers,

Well, Crush has been continually tested on the latest version of the OS and you can't get Quicktime 6.5 with the latest version of the OS.

FYI, this is the release version of the full app, but with the demo mode added if you don't have a valid serial number entered.

But it does run on 10.3.9, which does run QT6. I just thought it would be good if it was pointed out somewhere. More importantly, it should be pointed out that Crush ships with 3ivx 4.5.2 that fixes the "choppy playback under QT7"-problem with 4.5.1 (which removes the reason I had for not updating to QT7).

Ahh, thanks. Those are great observations Jacke. We're preparing an indepth web site and I'll make sure that we add those bits to the site.

By the way, have you had a chance to get to use the app yet?

Not yet, but it looks nice. Gonna set it up to encode a couple of files over the night.

How is the batch working?
Can i fill the batchlist with some processes
and one by one file will be encoded?

P.S. i cannot test this because my copy
of crush is not working anymore.

The short answer is, yes. Batch is working and you can add files to a batch while it is running as well.

Regarding Crush not working, did you install the demo and time ran out?

Have you already downloaded the demo?

Let me know,

Id like to fill the batch with some files and let Crush do one encode after the other.
This is importent, not as many processes as i have cpus.

Yes i tried the demo when it came out, time ran out now, cant test anymore.

Crush should do what you need. We've tested it with this scenario:
Create some templates.
Import some source
Apply some templates to some source.
Run the job.
Tweak some templates.
Crop some source,
Apply some more templates to some source.
Result: Files are added to the currently running job queue.
Tweak some more.
Apply some more.
View some completed compressed files.
Adjust the files in the queue (delete some, add some more).

All this time, the queue has been running. Crush is nice like that. Personally, it I find that it enables you to be more creative and lets you adjust settings on the fly, as you need, without affecting the entire compression queue.

Ahh, I understand.

Sorry, not at this point.

What is nice though is that while processing, you can still use all other applications. This is why we say "Crush plays nice with other applications."

We do plan on adding an option in the future to limit the amount of processors used.
