Help In H.264 Bitstream File Format

I am developping an application to help users searching events in a H.264 video sequence.
I need to understand the H.264 bitstream file format.
Can someone help me

reading the iso-standard over at www.iso.org or at least reading the drafts at ftp3.itu.int/av-arch/jvt-site/2006_04_Geneva/ might help.

Can anybody help me to find the AVC file format standard
(at least some descriptions)

in short:
avc = H.264 = MPEG-4 Part 10 offers better quality/size ratio than MPEG-4 ASP (3ivx, DivX, Xvid,...) and is one of the codec allowed for HD-DVD and BlueRay.
