Hi! I have a real big problem with VirtualDub 1.5.3:
I use GordianKnot to produce DivX video from DVDs. GordianKnot itself starts VirtualDub for compression. Every time VirtualDub has finished compression (i. e. when the time elapsed reaches the estimated total time), the estimated total time grows with the time elapsed. VirtualDub doesn't finish compression! This is the case with both of the two passes I do.
I think at that point, in one of the tabs of the VirtualDub status window, a message appears like "Possible deadlock detected", but I don't know what this means.
Does anyone have an idea? I'd really appreciate your help!
Thanks in advance,
Tim

"I use GordianKnot to produce DivX video from DVDs."
Which version? (current is 0.28.5.1

"GordianKnot itself starts VirtualDub for compression."
Newer versions (0.28+) should use virtualDubmod not VirtualDub.

Update to the current GordianKnot version.

If that doesn't help check yout source file for error, also post GKnots log file, the avs file used (without comments) and the divx  settings you used (also which version of divx you used).

Thanks Selur!
My GKnot version was 0.27, in fact (even if I thought I always have the newest version of any program...) So, I'll download and try the newer one. I'll tell U about the results.
